Rev. Castle's Ministry Goal:

"To be the best pastor and preacher God can make me. I consider my quiet time with the Lord, in prayer and in His word, as well as personal soul winning to be the most important aspects of my ministry. My prayer is to have an open, caring, loving and understanding heart, and to always walk in the center of God's Will.

I believe the Bible is the inspired, inerrant word of God. I consider myself a conservative Southern Baptist Pastor.

I was saved when I was fourteen years old. I was not raised in a Christian home, but the Lord sent someone from the warmth of the "Bible Belt" to the "cutting edge of the pioneer field" to introduce me to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. For this reason I have a special burden for missions. As a lay person I was active in several areas of church work and always tried to serve wherever there was a need. In January 1985, my home church ordained me to the ministry of Deacon. Within a few months I felt God's call to surrender to a full-time pastoral ministry. In June 1985, with my wife at my side, I surrendered to the ministry and shortly thereafter was licensed by my home church. A few weeks later God led me to East Texas Baptist University to pursue a degree in Christian Ministries. On February 2, 1987, I was ordained to the ministry by the congregation of First Baptist Church, Center Texas, while serving on the staff as Mission Pastor.

God has blessed me with a wonderful helpmate and true asset to my ministry, in my wife, Betty. She has been active in church ministries since her youth and surrendered her life to special service at the age of fifteen. We are very blessed by God to have two wonderful, Christian sons, and our granddaughter, Cora. They uplift me, inspire me, and keep me young.

I love doing the work the Lord has called me to do and look forward to a rewarding life in His service. I try to use every opportunity to be a good witness for my Lord and congregations that I serve."

Rev. Castle has been at East Baptist Church of Denison for over 10 years.

Every morning Rev. Castle makes his trek from his home in Kemp to 311 N. 5th in Denison to start his busy schedule. Weather permitting, he'll ride his motorcycle. Throughout the week Rev. Castle makes hospital rounds to see church members, makes phone calls of encouragement, prepares each week's Sunday Morning and Evening Sermons along with his Wednesday night message and the message for our Nursing Home Ministry at "Denison Manor" that he attends at 10:30AM on Thursday Mornings.

At home Rev. Castle enjoys riding his horses and taking care of his mule, Sara Sue. Along with tending to his land which used to house an old sugar mill in Kemp. You'll often find Gretchen, his Schnauzer at his side.
