What happens in a typical week at East
Baptist, Denison? Sundays 9:30AM we have Sunday School. This is where we are able to "dig" deeper into God's Word by using the Bible and by reading along in pre-printed literature to help us understand our relationship with God, or help us deal with the everyday challenges of life. We also have specialized activities for the children and youth. 10:45 AM, we have our Traditional Morning Worship Service. At around noon we're dismissed for the afternoon, but some might say "We're just getting started!" 4:30 PM our Choir practices. 5:30 PM, we have activities going on for the Children, Youth, and Adults. It's usually a fun and engaging Bible Study, or a Bible related activity. 6:30 PM, we have our second
Worship Service. It's usually very similar to the
Morning Service. At around 7:45P (although most of the time a little
earlier), we dismiss for the day. Usually on the last Sunday Night
of the month we have a fellowship afterwards where we can sit, eat,
and talk. 7:00 PM, we have our mid-week Bible Studies. Why Wednesday? Well, why not? It's the middle of the week, and who doesn't need their batteries recharged? On Wednesday Nights we have activities for the Children and Youth, as well as a specialized Bible Study for the adults. This is also where we go over our "Prayer Request List". This list has everyone on it that has asked the church members to pray for them. We also have our Business Meetings on a monthly basis on this night. This is where we look over our finances, ask questions, make suggestions, or mention issues which may have come up. Examples, might include a broken Air Conditioner or Heater, and how much it is going to cost to repair it. This is fun because everyone who is an EBC member gets to vote on church decisions. Thursdays 10:30 AM, we visit the "Denison Manor" Nursing Home . We have a short music session where we sing hymns, then Bro. Brett Castle presents a short devotional to the residents. You're invited! |
